Rudraksha

Rudraksha meaning—the eye of Rudra [Shiva] is considered to be the most potent manifestation of the Cosmic Force. Hence Rudraksha is the object of veneration and also the source to reach the higher self. Rudraksha is often believed to symbolize the link between the earth and the heaven. These beads are the seeds of the Rudraksha fruit obtained from Rudraksha trees. The Rudraksha tree is botanically known as ELAEOCARPUS GANITRUS ROXB. Its English name is UTRASUM BEAD TREE.

Origin 
‘Rudraksha’ has its origin in the Sanskrit words, ‘Rudra’ and ‘Aksha’. ‘Rudra’ is another name for Lord Shiva, and ‘aksha’ means teardrop. Mythological tales have it that the Rudraksha plant was born out of Lord Shiva’s tear drops. Ancient scriptures, such as ‘Shiva Purana’, ‘Padma Purana’ and ‘Srimad Bhagavad’ mention the greatness and wonderful powers of the Rudraksha. For thousands of years, they have adorned the bodies of sages and saints leading a fearless life in far-flung frontiers seeking enlightenment and liberation.

According to the Hindu scripture, Rudraksha beads are the holiest items embodied with mystical powers. These scripture states that Rudraksha is utilized to bring spiritual and material well-being to the wearer as well as for medicinal purposes since the ancient time.

Most of the powers of Rudraksha are associated with the number of mukhi or faces the beads have. Yogis and Monks of Nepal, India and many other countries have worn Rudraksha beads for thousands of years to cultivate physical, mental and health prowess to achieve Fearlessness on their Spiritual path leading to enlightenment and liberation. According to old scriptures, 'He who wears Rudraksha round the hands, arms and over the head cannot be killed by any living being. He shall roam the world in the form of Rudra. He shall be respected by the Gods and Assures always as well as be honored like Shiva. Even the devotees of Vishnu and other deities shall unhesitatingly wear the Rudraksha for gaining spiritual enlightenment .

It resembles the Third eye of Lord Shiva, Fire, which protects us from Passion and Death. Aksha means "Borne out of eye". The tears, which came after 1000 years Tapasya done by Lord Shiva.Rudraksha relieves stress and greatly helps in reaching desired goal. Aksha means "Axis". The concentration of Shiva in the war. Everybody needs concentration. Aksha means "View to chase the target": A Clear Vision to reach goal. 

Another important meaning of Aksha is "Joining axis ofTripurams". This gives a purely Philosophical meaning.Tripurasuras resemble Trigunas (Tamas, Rajas and Satwa). They live in Tripurams (Sthula, Sukshma and Karana Sareerams) One can attain Salvation only after winning these three. We can't win them one by one. They merge at a single point called "Deha bhranti" (Feeling of one-self as a separate identity) . We have to target it and win them at once.
